Kinzal General Info

Kinzal (generic name: Telmisartan; brand names: Pritor / Kinzal / Telma / Telday / Teleact D) is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist (ARB).

Kinzal is indicated for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). It can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive medicines.

Kinzal is a once-daily medication that works 24 hours a day. This means Kinzal is still working in the early morning, up until the next pill is taken, providing a full 24-hour blood pressure control.

Kinzal Recommendations

Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Kinzal exactly as directed.

Take Kinzal by mouth with or without food. The usual starting dose of Kinzal tablets is 40 mg once a day, but dosage must be individualized. Blood pressure response is dose-related over the range of 20 mg to 80 mg.

The antihypertensive effect is apparent after the first dose and maximal reduction is generally attained after 4 weeks.

Try to take Kinzal at the same time every day.

If you miss a dose of Kinzal, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Store Kinzal in a cool dry place, away from direct heat and light.
