Telday General Info

Telday (generic name: Telmisartan; brand names: Pritor / Kinzal / Telma / Telday / Teleact D) is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist (ARB).

Telday is indicated for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). It can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive medicines.

Telday is a once-daily medication that works 24 hours a day. This means Telday is still working in the early morning, up until the next pill is taken, providing a full 24-hour blood pressure control.

Telday works by decreasing certain chemicals in the body that cause blood vessels to constrict (narrow).

Telday Recommendations

Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Telday exactly as directed.

Take Telday by mouth with or without food. The usual starting dose of Telday tablets is 40 mg once a day, but dosage must be individualized. Blood pressure response is dose-related over the range of 20 mg to 80 mg.

The antihypertensive effect is apparent after the first dose and maximal reduction is generally attained after 4 weeks.

Try to take Telday at the same time every day.

If you miss a dose of Telday, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Store Telday in a cool dry place, away from direct heat and light.

Before taking Telday, tell your doctor if:

you are allergic to any medicines;
you have liver, kidney or gallbladder problems;
you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
